Welcome to

Thanks for visiting I started this blog to provide parents with young children helpful tips and recommendations about everything from travel to health, sleep habits to eating habits.

There are hundreds of parenting blogs out there already. So why start another one? As a father of two young children (ages 2 and 4), I often found myself researching information to find suggestions about any number of topics. When we were expecting our first child, I wanted to make sure I was fully prepared and researched what to expect, what to bring to the hospital, and how to prepare our home for the arrival of our daughter. When we were planning our first major family vacation for the kids, I wanted to know where to eat that was kid-friendly and how to pack everything we would need.

The major challenge was, I rarely found what I was looking for without spending a ton of time searching online. And after I found helpful information, I spent lots of time aggregating all of my research and sending it out to friends and family to save them the time and energy.

This blog will be a collection of my research, as well some nuggets of wisdom based on my own experience raising my two kids.

The following themes will characterize my entries going forward.
1. A clear point of view: from my experience I've found recommendations from people with a clear point of view much more helpful than those that cater to a widely diverse audience. You'll learn quickly if you agree with my POV and if you do, you should find this blog helpful. Also, I think this is one of the few parenting blogs written from a father's perspective.
2. Efficiently organized: I plan to write my entries efficiently. Some of them I hope will be useful enough to warrant your printing out my list of recommendations to keep handy during your next vacation or trip to the children's store. Thing bullet points and top ten lists!
3. Targeted: Because of #1 and #2, the audience that will find my blog most relevant is likely to have a similar background as my wife and I. Here's a bit about us. We're both professionals and believe in a healthy balance between parenting and our individual lives. I tend to be very diligent when researching topics and find that I can best enjoy myself when I feel very informed and well prepared. We both have the perspective that having fun is even more fun when you know you've gotten a great deal. And finally, we believe that raising our kids has been the most challenging and fun, stressful and rewarding, exhausting and exhilarating experience of our lives. We wouldn't trade it for the world!

Happy reading!
